Fairtrade Fortnight 2016 - The Big Fairtrade Breakfast For Fairtrade Fortnight 2016 many families, friends and communities throughout the country shared a Fairtrade Breakfast, in which at least one drink and one food item was Fairtrade sourced. In Tunbridge Wells, possibly the largest breakfast took place at the Town Hall where the Mayor, David Elliott, and the Mayoress, June Crowhurst, were hosts to nearly a hundred people representing local schools and businesses. We heard a fascinating talk by Richard Anstead of the Fair Trade Foundation, and a magnificent Fairtrade breakfast was provided by Scott Goss of The Twenty Six restaurant. We also asked Scott and three other local chefs, Jonathan, Dan and Jamie, to share their Fairtrade Breakfast ideas, and we filmed the results. There were many smaller events in the area, in schools, day centres and workplaces, and here are pictures of some of them, as well as photos of the Town Hall breakfast. Click on the image below:
