Fairtrade Fortnight 2014 - The Great Fairtrade Bake-off On World Fairtrade Day, 2014, we held a Fairtrade Market showcasing the wide range of goods and produce that now carry the Fairtrade logo. The event was held in the middle of the Tunbridge Wells Farmers' Market and other traders joined us with stalls offering a fantastic variety of Fairtrade goods in addition to the local produce which is always available at the market. Nearby trees were decorated with paper Fairtrade fruit made by children from Tunbridge Wells schools. The centrepiece of the event was the Great Fairtrade Bake-off in which competing teams produced filled pancakes to their own recipes - all using Fairtrade ingredients of course. Proud to be a Fairtrade Town Seven years after Tunbridge Wells became a Fairtrade Town we were pleased to unveil the Fairtrade Town signs which proudly announced the fact at the gateways to the town. Our grateful thanks to the Borough Council for demonstrating their continuing commitment to Fairtrade Town status by introducing these signs.
